LOVE his point about churches with the "come to us under our terms" mentality vs. we will go to you. I belong to a church that believes in being a church in the community not in a building. It's a crucial component in the way we think about reaching out to non-Christians.
Ali - word. I love my church community and they do a lot to be "outside" the building - but I think we still have a long way to go.
I think if we are trying to model Christ, then we need to watch what He did. He didn't have a building, but He Went Out and Touched the dying, sick and diseased. If we really want people to see Jesus in us, we need to Go out and give them hope just like Jesus did. I think too, there is a time and place for corporate worship, communion, and the like, but less of the building and more of the moving the feet.
